Long Shot - Movie Review
Long Shot was such a good film. It was refreshing to see the badass babe fall for the derpy Stoner with ideals. It was annoying that Rogen spends most of the film in an outfit that makes him look like a Dixie cup. But then again he’s not playing a character with a sense of style. It was realistic and heartwarming and took a few ridiculous turns but it portrays men with an emotional depth of nature and left-leaning idealism that doesn’t involve washboard abs and flowing locks.
So yeah, men get objectified. Big news front page. But men that don’t look like that usually get depicted as losers. This was a “loser” who not only got the girl but the dream. It was funny and deep and emotional and amazing. Kudos for turning the romcom genre on its stoned ear. ALSO be on the lookout for the MDMA scene, nice to see it portrayed in a good light versus the stigmatic one society was hornswoggled into believing. Paris has never been more romantic. Big thanks to Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen, you made my weekend funnier than it otherwise would have been. I truly enjoyed the intense way you connected on screen, I believed it.
